Multi-Mini Medical Interview Tutor

We are thrilled to announce that Miss Angela Chan, an exceptional tutor, will be guiding students through the Multi-Mini Interview (MMI) process at IST. Angela is currently a Medicine MBBS/BSc student at the prestigious Imperial College London, a testament to her success in navigating the highly competitive medical school application landscape, which heavily features MMIs. Her direct experience with MMI formats, having received unconditional offers from top universities like Imperial, King’s College London, and Newcastle University, provides her with invaluable firsthand knowledge of MMI interview preparation for UK and Hong Kong medical schools.

Angela’s extensive and diverse involvement make her an ideal MMI tutor. Her background as Vice President of both the Debating Club and the MUN Club highlights her strong communication, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning skills – all paramount for excelling in MMI scenarios. Furthermore, her practical work experience, ranging from assisting in medical research at Prince of Wales Hospital to observing patient consultations and surgeries across various specialties, has equipped her with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, patient interactions, and the professional attributes expected of future doctors. This blend of academic excellence, real-world exposure, and honed interpersonal skills positions Angela perfectly to help students master the art of the MMI.

Principal Interview Tutor

Mr Don Ho is the Principal of International Scholars Tuition School and has been helping many Hong Kong students improve their confidence and skills as they prepare for their UK and USA boarding school interviews. In a typical interview skills lesson, Don tutors students on how to best prepare comprehensive answers that highlight their academic and extracurricular achievements. Don also helps students build their confidence by focusing on soft people skills, such as handshaking and making eye contact during mock-interviews.

Many students have also requested cross-cultural lessons to help them adapt to student life outside of Hong Kong. In these cross-cultural lessons, the topics usually include History, Geography, Government Systems, and the Current Affairs of the UK or the USA. Another popular cross-cultural lesson involves the differences in etiquette, manners and language between the USA or the UK and Hong Kong. Some of Don’s students study at Deerfield Academy, Lawrenceville School, St. Paul’s School, and Linden Hall in the USA; Harrow School, Tonbridge School, and Sevenoaks School in the UK; and German Swiss International School GSIS in Hong Kong. Don tutors English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Economics, and Business.
