Chinese Cantonese Tutor

Miss Valerie Kwok joins IST as a Chinese Tutor, who is a native speaker of Cantonese. Valerie achieved a 5** on the HKDSE: Chinese, English, and Liberal Studies (in Chinese). She scored a 5** in all parts of the Chinese exam including reading, writing, listening and speaking. She is an enthusiast of Chinese literature, from modern linguists such as Eileen Zhang and Xu Zhimo, to ancient poets such as Su Shi and Li Qing Zhao. She is also experienced in public speaking in Cantonese. She has won several championships in the Hong Kong School Speech Festival. Miss Kwok has fulfilled the requirements for a BA in Jurisprudence with First Class Honours from Oxford. In addition to the HKDSE Chinese, Valerie is able to tutor IB Language Acquisition Chinese B (SL and HL) and ab initio (SL), CIE IGCSE and GCE A LEVEL, Edexcel IGCSE and GCE A Level. 

Valerie also offers lessons in English, Law / LNAT, Liberal Studies, and UCAS and JUPAS, especially Law at Oxford, Cambridge, HKU, and CUHK.

Chinese Cantonese Tutor

Ms Michelle Wong, who has been tutoring Cantonese in Hong Kong since 2009, is the Assistant Principal of IST. Michelle is a native speaker of Cantonese, who is also fluent in English and Mandarin. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Translation from the University of Hong Kong. Chinese GCSE (9-1), AS, and A level, which are offered by Edexcel, may be taken in Cantonese or Mandarin at the HKEAA. Michelle engages students by providing a fun learning atmosphere by encouraging students to speak freely, listen attentively, read comprehensively, and write clearly. Michelle has also been tutoring Geography.
